In the Aviator there's this dreadful dreary instrumental 40s tune that Scorsese uses for various scenes. One in particular is the scene after Hughes breaks up with Hepburne and burns all his clothes. I may be reaching here, but that song to me has the same tone and pace to it. It's like Clementine's Loop 1940s style. Can anyone else see the connection?
