Quote from: OnomatopitaI think the drug references are a bit played out by now, what with the Criterion banner, and the PTA line on Idle Chatter.  Anything else would be redundant.
You're redundant.

Oh, snap.
I can't tell whether that was a zing or a burn.

And on that note, there needs to be something about SNL, Tina Fey-lovin', and the greatness of Conan O'Brien.  Hey, if we can have a banner about Letterman and Leno, why not?

For Conesy, how about "Keep Cool, My Babies?"  Plzkthx.

No, I got it from an SNL earlier this season which, as a pleasant coincidence (i.e. one of the funniest episodes of SNL in ages) reran last night.  ;)  Christina Aguilera has surprisingly good comic ability.

Gotta say, though, the "Xixtinguish Your Passions" banner?  Not really good, considering the nature of the site.

One Conan joke is enough, I think.

We already have a slew of "verb (blank), one (blank) at a time" marquees.

Yeah, so we should probably lose the Conan/Kilborn one, eh?

Hahahahahaha, I hadn't noticed that one before....

classic!!
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

Nah, I'm sure people talked about Mary Pickford and Clara Bow being bangable.

The new idle chatter tagline is tops, as usual.

But this:

"Creating Almodovar fans one Scorsese fan at a time"

Well, I guess it would be funny if it wasn't a rib on me... :)

But still, it seems to insinuate that Scorsese is not amazing, which is just plain evil...
