a part of SF's 30th Asian American FilmFest (http://festival.caamedia.org/30/guide/program/i-am-a-ghost/)
Saw this on a whim and was
not sorry. A great director/actor showcase that plays with it's audience and delivers a classic, timely ghost story with plenty of real scares. I'm sure it'll get accepted to a lot more fests so keep your eyes peeled and see it if you can.
Just based on that trailer, I wouldn't really be giving it a second thought, but with your recommendation, I'm willing to give it a chance. The acting seemed pretty student-filmy, though.
thats exactly what i thought i was in for too, and the first 20 minutes almost make you believe your in for a big boring Lynch loveletter made by some highschooler, but by the second act, you see what he's doing and you're sure your in good hands. The story and concept comes first and foremost. It's not at all student splater flick or a movie made to homage other horror movies or "the next Roth!" type movie or anything like that, just a good ghost story with a slight, non-twisty gimmick. The guy who made it is also a musician, and keeping that in mind, it really has a chorus-bridge-climax kindof quality to it. More than anything, it gave me that "I-can-make-movie-too!" feeling, and i always gotta respect that
72 - you live in SF?

And not one of them got a broken nose.
72 are you a cool dude? if so then come hang out!
i think im cool! maybe just a little awkward tho.. i weirded out on a xixer one time when he tried to friend me on myspace a couple years back, but i was in a odd place then... but yes pete, i am cool and we should hang :)
but you keep those kids away from me... I will drop-kick those fuckin' kids if they come near me.
Fuck...
ive been shitty about repping my favorite film of 2012 (so far..)
it was screening during the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and i forgot to let all you L.A.Xaxers know about it..
schary doods.
but fear not, it's still been getting lots of good word, praise, and attention, and im still confident for a wide release in the soon-future...
but Here (http://www.iamaghost.com/) is the official website if yall care to check it out and keep track...> I Am A Ghost (http://www.iamaghost.com/)
ill be bumping this later, come any new screenings, til at least another one of us sees it.
Any u phucks phrum Philli?

teeth and I hung out.
well not hung out, but he came to work on the set of my music video for Aesop Rock.
and I'm happy to report that teeth is a fucking trooper. he's funny and he'll do ANYTHING.
I like how this has become the official 72teeth thread.
I like that pete basically posted a review of 72teef.
it's inspiring when Xaxer's get to meet each other. I'd like to hear a detailed account of every one.
yeah! i was going to wait til after the viddy came out but yes: Teeth has met Pete and he really showed me the hell out of the ropes, baptisim by fire this was and i loved every minute of it.. Pete is something else, man, and determined as fuck! and he's is funny! silly to the point of being puppy-cute. i think working at such late hours made us all a little loopy, but we had the perfect morale builder in our leader and it never got tense or boring.. you really showed me what it takes to be a director, pete, and ill always be greatful.. looking forward to the next one friend-o :salute: :yabbse-grin:
this thread is turning out disgusting. I'm sorry everyone.
ps Teeth please write something similar like it on my facebook wall 'cause there are girls reading there.
I THINK I met 72teeth briefly several years ago at the PTA talk at UC Berkeley.
I have definitely met a good amount of XIXAXers though. Xerxes, Ghostboy, Bonanzataz, Sleepless, RK, Ravi, The Perenium Falcon, Reinhold, Walrus, Children With Angels, Pete, Lucid, Neil, I Love a Magician, Stefan...
I might be forgetting someone, but I think that's mostly it. I love meeting XIXAXers though. Y'all are like family.
Anyway, I Am A Ghost... looks intriguing! I will keep an eye out for it.
Me too! I think, at SXSW, right?
Ah yeah, that's right!
I met mod and matt here too.
I know there's another thread about this.
but fuck that thread. this is where it's at.
mod was a beautiful gorgeous creature.
matt's all young and idealistic.
And what's about Stefan?
I want to know about Stefan.
Is he sexy?

i love this movie, plain and simple.
they get how to take the reality of their movie and not get too heavy handed.
they made a movie, i dunno, drunk yes, but i love this thing and i want to share it with you guys
im not gonna stop
Hey! It's now going to be apart of the 2012 Pollygrind Film Fest (http://couchcutter.com/exclusive-official-2012-pollygrind-film-fest-selections-announced/)!!!
in Vegas i think?
i'll keep you posted.. yes, you because i still want YOU to see it
I saw this at the Asian Film Festival of Dallas this year. It takes a simple setup and runs with it. Once I got into the rhythm of the film, I really enjoyed it. Like 72teeth mentioned, it has a musical quality, with repeated scenes and motifs.
Hey, Ravi, getoutta 72teeth's thread.
Once I got into the rhythm of 72teeth's writing, I really enjoyed him. He's writing really has as a musical quality.

Once I got into the rhythm of KJ's english, I fell in love with him. His writing has the musical quality of an Irish drinking song.
