unfortunately that will never happen.  Blockbuster will either

A. buy out netflix so it will be Blockbuster Netflix

or

B. start their own competitive service Blockbuster Movie Subscriptions

they are an evil evil machine.  and i doubt they will go down that easily.  they fucking bought pay-per-view!
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

I'm pretty sure this is already in the works. Along with Wal-Mart's effort.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands, with all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves, let me forget about today until tomorrow.

Weird. Oh

Being that I work for BlockBuster (Sorry I apologize :(, everyone needs a job, and I get free movies.) I know for a fact BB is going to start a mail at home service sometime this year. They have been test marketing it for a while in different areas of the US. I personally have Netlfix too even though I work at BB so I can get the dvd's we don't carry (which is a lot).

doesnt that bug the shit out of you?  that you work AT a video store, where you probably get paid dick, so you can get free movies, but their selection is so bad you have to still pay for netflix?

Haha yeah it blows. Its hard to find a good job though. I'm just a college student trying to pay the bills. The netflix I use for older films which BB doesn't carry. I like getting stuff early and they have been getting more of the smaller films. It sucks when customers ask me about movies that suck, like Dumb and Dumberer. And when I tell them I haven't seen any of the movies they ask me why I don't see any movies, I feel like saying "sorry I don't waste my time watching crap like that" I also just got Wal Mart Rental service  :-D. Free 30 day trial, Can't be that!

Is NetFlix really that good? I was thinking of pressuring my folks to subscribe but my Ma said it wouldn't be worth it since we don't rent enough. I thought to myself, "But the main reason we don't rent a lot is because you jerks are too lazy to drive across the sctreet to go rent movies." Whatever.

ono

It's definitely worth it.  I've had it for a few weeks and like it a lot.  Three DVDs out at a time isn't enough for me because of the super-slow turnaround, but I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to five or eight just yet.

I always have a steady flow of Netflix coming in.  I go to Blockbuster when I have a sudden urge for a film I know they will have.  The rewards program isn't that bad M-W it's 2 rentals for the price of one.  There is also a local video store called Four Star which is very good (the foreign section is just huge).  That is where I go when I have a sudden urge for a less available title.

Ex> urge to see Planes, Trains & Automobiles > Blockbuster
Urge to see The Last Picture Show > 4 Star

or the death of your local indie movie rental store where the clerk calls his customer by their name

You folks only talk about Blockbuster, I can't believe you don't have good indepedent stores. Shit, my 60 000 inhabitants northern town has one really good video rental store with indies and oldies on DVD, and most of the Criterion DVDs.

Pubrick

my Blockbuster store has a wide selection of uncensored foreign and cult movies.

as well as a decent selection of porn, which i don't rent cos i prefer the gonzo stuff.

How could you rent porn?

Buying it I can maybe see, downloading it makes the most sense to me, but how could you touch a shared DVD whose sole purpose is to accompany people in climaxing?
