the problem is you are both working on a different definition of style. here's how the oxford english dictionary defines it, which i think is universally accepted:

part of my excitement was...is to see how mann's style gets used in this story. when scorsese was to direct, it seemed like a perfect fit...now it doesn't...that's what i find attractive...
