Now listening to this, repeatedly:

It's not available yet in "the states," but it's readily acquirable on the internets.

Sheeeeit. Xixax already got a thread about it. It hit Xixax before it hit the internets.

To be fair, though, I must have earned some points for this.

it's been a long five years since his last one. so far i really enjoy Horseshoe Fortune and One Night, One Kiss (a duet with Ruth Minnikin). it's much more produced than his earlier stuff but it's nice to hear his voice with a little more clarity.

The Head & The Heart

The best band to come out of Seattle in years.  They fit right in with bands like Fleet Foxes or Band of Horses, but as of this album, I like them more than either of those.

Oh, I love Fleet Foxes but hate Band of Horses. Predicament!

I would categorize them alongside those bands, but they don't sound specifically like either.

Here's some samples:

Sorry for the double post: this shit is good. Just bought the album on itunes after being harshly criticized by my gf for downloading it on what.cd what a nice gal

edit again: this might be the best album I've heard all year.

Stumbled across these guys on hype machine, still not sure how obscure or successful they are but its hard to google them without getting these guys. Which probably says enough.

my eyes hurt because of the shit cd album covers in this page. POGUES- Sayonara?  Sayonara to all notions of design in the presentation of a product that's intended for human consumption.

edit: even the designers of pirate dvd covers have a better idea of how to organize visual information. fuck this shit .

Stefen

But how is the music?

poorly presented.
also, i could never take a band called "the russian futurists' seriously. and i'm sure it's only one dude, because that's a hip thing to do.

squints

i don't dig the new russian futurists at all. guy shoulda stuck with lower low low production
i've never listened to the pogues.
Coolrunnings is pretty sweet.
