What happened to this movie? Directed by Mamet and supposed to star Jude Law, it is now totally off the map.
It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.

2/17/03 - When production was expected to start in early 2002, it would have been produced by Franchise Pictures, but ScreenDaily.com has reported that they have backed out completely. It's quite possible, however, that David Mamet could still find a new home for this project elsewhere.

This was one of my most antici-fucking-pated movies when it was still in production, it sounded sooooooo awesome. It sucks that it got pulled, it fucking sucks. I hope Mamet gets it back in soon.

Seems Mamet has moved on:

Val Kilmer to play a secret agent in David Mamet's 'Spartan'

Premise: A "lone wolf" U.S. government secret agent codenamed Spartan (Kilmer) is assigned the task of rescuing the kidnapped daughter of the president, only to discover along the way a larger, more sinister plot with origins within the White House itself...

Production is scheduled to start in April, 2003.
