Just when I thought this gag could not be made fresh again.

maybe I'm just noticing this, but I think this is a terrible new trend for this technique in trailers, most recently seen in the Avengers trailer: a character would say something real witty and snappy, and it would cut to elsewhere, anywhere in the movie, where another character is laughing, as if at that joke.

It's been going on for a while. It's pretty shitty and obvious, at least to me. Maybe it's not obvious to most moviegoers. It also happens with lines of dialogue.

Most recently, I noticed this in the trailer for Premium Rush, where I think the bad guy says something like, "Are you threatening me?" and JGL is riding his bike and says, "Count on it." I'm pretty positive those are two different scenes.
