i realized that after i posted it and came back to edit my post before my idiocy was too widely noted.

it was, however, on a lifting mix that we listened to every day in a weight training class that i took last year along with the theme from rocky. the two are permanently associated with each other in my mind.

What I've found to work best for working out is intense music that is constantly changing, so it keeps your brain stimulated and interested. I'd recommend...

1. Dream Theater - Stream of Consciousness
2. Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain
3. The Mars Volta - Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt/L'Via L'Viaquez (cool down during the salsa breaks)
4. System of a Down - Shimmy/Jet Pilot
5. Rage Against the Machine - Freedom
6. Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand/Ramble On

Basically, you can't go wrong with prog rock, punk rock, or classic rock. This set would be about 45 minutes long.

I normally choose music like Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Múm, Lali Puna, Notwist and Sigur Rós when I'm jogging/working out. I like music that doesn't kick me out of rhytm.

I have a cd that was given to me as a novely gift of some pornstar asking questions like "So do you want me to take my clothes off?" and things like that, then for the last 20 minutes of the cd it's just her moaning like shes having sex. I workout to that and it works.

Jogging, weight traning. Just normal workouts. I don't see whats so weird about it. Deep down the only reason a man exercises is so he can have a better chance at getting sex. Don't deny it, thor.

i don't have a whole workout mix made yet, but i do have one for my warmup...

i do a half hour on an elliptical machine... it's like a no-impact treadmill.

i threw it together in about 10 minutes:

green day- brain stew
the strokes- between love and hate
u2- elevation
reel big fish- i'll never be
cake- nugget
mighty mighty bosstones- noise brigade
supergrass- rush hour soul
the streets- fit but you know it
STU- track 3 (it's a local ska band from my sister's college town)

white stripes- seven nation army
