Find Your Magali

Anyone know when the Region 2 special edition of this all-time comedy classic is going to make it to the United States?

Or is it already here and I'm stupider than Otto for not knowing....

MacGuffin

Probably around the same time MGM releases the "Misery" Spec. Ed. for Region 1.

Is that code for "When hell freezes over," or is there a date for "Misery"?

MacGuffin

Just saying that, with MGM, they tend to release the better Spec. Eds. for Region 2 loooooong before releasing them for Region 1, as was recently done with "Fargo". So, until then:

Well, at least we get our Fargo, finally, in a few weeks, right?

And Terminator.

When is Universal going to release a widescreen version of Fierce Creatures?

Redlum

Ah man the celebrity sponsored turtle. Kevin Kline and 'Hungry Heart' - kills me. I doubt fierce creatures will get a decent treatment though.

Think MGM did a Misery SE Region 2 before the R1 too.

Set for 8/1, A Fish Called Wanda: Collector's Edition (SRP $24.96) will include the film in anamorphic widescreen video, audio commentary by star John Cleese, 30 minutes of deleted and alternate scenes, the A Message from John Cleese introduction video, the Kulture Vulture and Something's Fishy documentaries, John Cleese's First Farewell Performance, something called Farewell Featurette: John Cleese (don't know if that's the same or different as the last one, but that's what the press release says), a text trivia track, a photo gallery, Easter eggs, the original theatrical trailer, and an insert booklet.

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/a-fish-called-wanda-cancelled.html

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has cancelled their upcoming, two-disc collector's edition of A Fish Called Wanda, which was set for release on the 1st of August. The new set was to include a newly remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Extras would have included an audio commentary with John Cleese, 30 minutes of deleted scenes with an intro by Cleese, John Cleese's First Farewell Performance, a Farewell Featurette: John Cleese, and a Something's Fishy documentary. Completing the package was a trivia track, photo gallery, collectible insert, and trailer. No reason has been given for the cancellation, but we'll let you know if it returns to their release schedule.

MGM and their distributor, 20th Century Fox, have rescheduled the street date for the delayed 2-disc A Fish Called Wanda: Special Edition for 11/21 (SRP $26.98). Revise your plans accordingly.
