no love for The New World, godardian?

It has gone unfortunately unseen by me... so far. Soon, very soon. Stupid homework impinges far too much on my ability to see the new stuff coming out. I also missed Walk the Line and King Kong.

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."

He means if you're wanting to see the lesser of the two instead of the best of the year.

Knowing you, G, I'd say New World is the way to go (not that Kong doesn't have it's moments).

I keep putting this off but there's really nothing else I want to see although perhaps a few I should see.  Fuck it, I'm done with 2005 until I dig it up later in a time capsule which I've buried in my film yard.

one.  the new world.
two.  save the green planet.
three.  brokeback mountain.
four.  downfall.
five.  kiss kiss, bang bang.
six.  good night, and good luck.
seven.  mysterious skin.
eight.  cache.
nine.  four brothers.
ten.  land of the dead.

I need to see Where the Truth Lies sober, for those who remember and are confused as to where it is.  If any.  Whatever shut up.

Runners up include other movies that didn't make the list.
Raven haired Linda and her school mate Linnea are studying after school, when their desires take over and they kiss and strip off their clothes. They take turns fingering and licking one another's trimmed pussies on the desks, then fuck each other to intense orgasms with colorful vibrators.
