Old Topic but... his song "Sweet Thing" at the end of Moonlight Mile had the most fitting feel to it.
Classic.

Quote from: RegularKarateI don't have his greatest... but I have Moondance and Astral Weeks.

I've got those two as well, and they practially are his greatest hits.

meatwad

a friend of mine just made me a copy of his album Tupelo Honey. It's my favorite album i've heard of his so far, although the only other ones i've heard are Moondance and Astral Weeks

My favorite song is Wild Nights. I had heard the Mellancamp version, and sadly never knew it was a van morrison cover

Tru Dat, one of my favorite movie endings, mostly because of that song.

Everyone should own at least one van morrison album, Tupelo Honey for sure. Van Morrison is the epitome of cool. A buddy of mine had this album philosophers stone which was a collection of old and new material I think, a double album, but there was a song on that album that may possibly be the greatest song ever written but for the life of me I cant remember what it was called or how it went. I've spent the last three years searching for that fucker.
Falling in love is the greatest joy in life. Followed closely by sneaking into a gated community late at night and firing a gun into the air.

RegularKarate

Unless it was "The Way Young Lovers Do", it wasn't the best song ever written

Thats your opinion, and it's wrong.

Mine too, and we're twice the number of you.

Did I just get cock-blocked by Bob Saget?

I'm like that, except it's The Royal Tenenbaums with "Everyone"

What about "Warm Love"?
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

RegularKarate

Well, I'm cool with Stefen thinking there's a better Van Morrison song than The Way Young Lovers Do (there isn't), but El Duderino couldn't possibly have any kind of emotional love for music if he even THOUGHT OF DARING to give TWYLD two thumbs down.

Sweet thing IS a great song, but The way Young Lovers Do... fuck, that's got it all....

It gets you all ready for the song... da ding da ding ding ding

We strolled through fields all wet with rain
And back along the lane again
There in the sunshine
In the sweet summertime
The way that young lovers do

I kissed you on the lips once more
HORNS KICK IN - BADA BADA BADA BA!
And we said goodbye just adoring the nighttime
Yeah, that's the right time
To feel the way that young lovers do

Then the chorus takes you there with him...

Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that we were
and the way that we were meant to be
Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that I was for you
and you were for me

AND HE STARTS SCREAMING - YOU FEEL IT!!!
And then we danced the night away
And turned to each other, say, 'I love you, I love you'
The way that young lovers do

 Do, do, do, do...
MORE BADASS HORN - the funkness of the bass starts to hit you... the bass--- you can hear it just getting a beating <- That's passion!!!

Then we sat on our star and dreamed of the way that we were and the way
that we wanted to be
Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that I was for you
and you were for me

NOW HE'S JUST LETTING IT ALL OUT - HE KNOWS THE SONGS ALMOST OVER AND HE NEEDS YOU TO FEEL IT

I went on to dance the night away
And turned to each other, say, 'I love you, baby, I love you'
The way that young lovers do, lovers do, lovers do

 Do, do, do, do....

But hey, maybe I'm biased because I know what it's like to love and be loved

Sleuth

Hm, I never thought of transcribing my thoughts that way.  That's more of how I would actually SAY it, very nice.

TWYLD gets my vote, just for that.
Does Dude care to retort?
