Title: Ladytron!
Post by: Jeremy Blackman on May 25, 2008, 07:01:44 PM
I've been a fan for a while. Only realized now that they have no thread.

Well, this is a good time to start one, because their new album was released on iTunes less than a week ago.

Conclusion:  :yabbse-thumbup: :yabbse-thumbup: :yabbse-thumbup:

It takes the maturity of Witching Hour even further and is probably their best to date. And it's still distinctively Ladytron. The sounds are bolder than ever, the songwriting is subtle and powerful, and the bits from their early work that tended to annoy people (myself included, after an abusive amount of listening) are mostly absent.

Early favorites: Black Cat, Runaway, Burning Up, Deep Blue, I'm Not Scared.

And, yes, Ghosts.

I'm looking forward to seeing them live in a couple of weeks and I'd also like to add "Tomorrow" to the list of top tracks.

Haven't listened to Velocifero yet but Witching Hour was really good. "International Dateline" and "Soft Power" in particular left a strong impression.
