Along with everyone else, I love Jack.  What do you think was his greatest performance.  I know I'm missing some here...so just check other.

It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.

"Film is a disease. When it infects your bloodstream, it takes over as the number one hormone. It bosses the enzymes, directs the pineal gland, plays Iago to your psyche. As with heroin, the antidote to Film is more Film."

It's definitely a toss-up between The Shining and One Flew....I voted One Flew.

though i wasn't too big on the movie itself, the pledge must be my favorite. i mean nooene could smoke ciggies like him in that part, too few actors smoke in movies.

He was fucking great in that movie.  i don't think it was that bad of a film...dragged in some parts, but good nonetheless.

Carnal Knowledge --- hands down.

for the Ballbusters On Parade scene alone
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

ur reviews are always so insightful.

officially i'd say the pledge too, he really smokes like no other.. well deniro is a good smoker too especially in casino. i'm all about the shining these days tho so it's gotta be that, he's a good drunk too. perfect teeth for that role.
under the paving stones.

Although these days he seems to be more of a caricature of himself, and i haven't been impressed with him in ages(including About Schmidt), i can't deny his remarkable performance in Chinatown(or One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest for that matter), that still are the best of him in my mind to this day.

what the hell is up with this thread?  couldnt someone just have added a poll to mine?  its like, only a few down, and has less responses than this one.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Would you believe me if I said I didn't see the Nicholson part of your title and thought you were talking about Jack Motherfucking?
