Good God. This thing is a freak of nature. Period.

DON'T!
I'm frightened...
I can't help but feel sorry for him. It's the trouble with cinderella: What happens when you reach the top so fast? He's lasted longer than most child celebrities.
Quote from: SHAFTRHe's lasted longer than most child celebrities.
What do you mean when you say "lasted"?
I'll always be a fan of his 80's music, it's so good, shows he's really a fucking genius, though a tad strange with his bedfellows.
Quote from: CinephileQuote from: SHAFTRHe's lasted longer than most child celebrities.

I was thinking the same thing, Cinephile. It's all about context. I think "than" was a typo.
It was supposed to be "in".
HE IS A CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLDDD MOLEESSTEEER!!!!!!!! (Freddy Got Fingered)
Put him away for good! FREAK!
..its a damn shame that someone with so much talent ends upwasting it..
The last album of his that I like is Dangerous. He's done a few good singles after that, such as Scream and They Don't Really Care About Us, but his albums after Dangerous weren't so good.
you know...what i don't get is this guy started gettin' a little goofy somewhere around 1985. it's not like he went weird just yesterday.
Now...
...if i had a 12-13 year old son, and he came up to me one day and asked, "dad, can i go play and have a sleepover at michael's house?" First, I would laugh.
and then, i would kick his ass with my belt and inform him that for the next 2 days straight we are gonna watch football, drink beer, eat pizza, look at nudie mags, and fart ourselves to sleep. father and son bonding style.
has\ve any of you guys ever been to neverland ranch.....
if bubbles was around i would give him a chiquita banana..

Agreed. I watched Three Kings tonight. Have people learned nothing from that scene?
JB is right.
and MJ is the best thing that happened to the 80s. man he was so good.
i'm taking a polanski position with him. he hasn't killed anyone, the ppl who are accusing him of things just want money and scandal. his work is so good that i don't care what he does outside of it.

Same here, even if anything happens to him, we'll still have Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, etc.
I seriously hopes he pulls an Elliot Smith so the madness can stop for once and all.

And, supposedly, a friend was ... I guess, greeted, by Michael Jackson when he was a baby. His parents met Michael at "some religious gathering". The friend doesn't lie, but I haven't really pried into this. I like to bring up this fact now and again, and I'm not sure if he's proud or embarrased or what about his encounter.

i do feel sorry for him, but man, he keeps putting himself in these dangerous situations. it's his own fault. i mean, put it this way; after he settled w/ the first family for $20 million, don't u think it would be a good idea for him to change his lifestyle a bit? put urself in his shoes; would u still invite children into ur home and into ur bedroom after that settlement knowing full and well that many greedy parents may be pulling the same shit? is he that naive to think that it would never happen again?
as much as i'd like to think he was innocent, i doubt we'll ever know for sure.

INTERROGATOR
My main man. Tell me something,
OK? What is problem with Michael
Jackson?
TROY
What do you mean?
INTERROGATOR
The King of Pop. 'I'm bad, I'm
bad, you know it --'
TROY
Yeah, Michael Jackson.
INTERROGATOR
He is fahking the small boys, man.
TROY
What are you talking about?
INTERROGATOR
He come to Egypt with the small
boys. I see picture in newspaper,
always he is with the small boys
in the hotel window. Hello with
the white glove. I am King of Pop
in my hotel with the small boys.
No girls. Just the boys.
TROY
He likes kids.
INTERROGATOR
Yeah, he like to fahk them up the
ass.
TROY
Bullshit.
Troy is smashed in the face with a clipboard. He looks
angry, and like he could cry at the same time.
INTERROGATOR
You are the blind bullshit, my
main man. It is so obvious he
like the small boy so he all the
time travel with them.
TROY
Fine.
INTERROGATOR
And if it really true? You say --
TROY
I say it's sick.
INTERROGATOR
That's because you got a sick
country, bro, you got no respect
for the children. That's why you
bomb them over here, right?
TROY
I don't think so.
INTERROGATOR
Michael Jackson is Pop King of
sick fahking country.
TROY
Wrong.
Troy is smashed in the face with the clip board. Blood drips
from his nose.
INTERROGATOR
Bullshit wrong, dude. A black man
make the skin white and the hair
straight. You know why?
TROY
No.
INTERROGATOR
Your sick fahking country make the
black man hate hisself, just like
you hate the Arab and the children
you bomb.

Well, he was a child star. His childhood wasn't very good. He has never been out of the lime light. He is on top of the world and than he gets the skin disease. The black artist turns white.
I'm still not sure if he's a pedophile or not.
It's a funny little coincidence that when programs in other countries are showing anti-Bush programs on CNN, the U.S. version of CNN is reporting about an sexual assault case featuring Michael Jackson.

That's right. I should've just said "our media" since its its on every station and not solely CNN. But I don't know what other stations around the world are showing anti-Bush protests so I just reduced it all to "CNN."
I really care little for the man. For the crime, I can't prove anything but from everything I've read about it, he likely does a lot of the shit he is accused of.
Artistically, he's been on repeat mode since 'Thriller'. He's the studio's best riend in that he changes little about his music and art, but only his style to just keep up with what's important, fashion. I think he is second to Madonna in being the most overrated pop musician ever.

The stuff about kids didn't make it to the final cut, though.
i am failing to see the politcal undertones of that scene that are suppose to make me feel sympathetic for this weirdo. Seriously...i read it, and think...see, the rest of the world thinks he is a freak too. send him to his own little island as if he were a leper. whether he did it or not, the guy is a fruit with monkeys...and it's pathetic that it's a headlining story.
he does not live within the confines of something called reality...now maybe he will have to face some.

Try watching it. It makes more sense in context, and the final version is trimmed down.

his wierd behaviour about children doesn't mean that he is a pedophile.
nobody knows for sure if he actually IS a pedophile. that's how I stand on this whole issue. so whether we classify him as one or not, any classification would be ignorant. do I think he's got some majorly screwed up issues? yes. could this have been avoided if he wasn't so weird? YES. it's not like its everyone elses fault.... i don't think anybody TOLD HIM to dangle his child over a balcony.
at the end of the day, pedophile or not, jacko is fuckin' wacko.
His weird behavior with one other boy cost him $20 millon. I would personally say it was a lot more than just that to drop 20M for hush money.
Everyone can have their opinions but the history is pretty clear to me. Guess what? California's Child Abuse laws were changed b/c of Michael Jackson's buy off in 1993. The defendent can drop the charges but the state has to bring forth the charges and can also force the child to testify.
legal def. for pedophilia - sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object
Time and money will tell, but he's practically on the verge of being broke. And money won't make it dissappear, it will all be up to his lawyer's abilities.

Three Kings, were you joking? They've mentioned this already. But it's not the only evidence to support Jackson... its just a really good message about the whole perception of things.

Yeah, it's not funny, it sort of disturbs me, but Walrus obviously hasn't seen the movie so he doesn't know the context it's in.
I saw the film back when it was released and I've always thought it was haunting dialogue.
Nope. Haven't seen it. Should I?
Yes. It's a great, great movie.
it occurs very close to the turning point of mark's character, when we sympathize with the other dude.
it's an important line in getting us to see a very true perception from the other side of american culture, then shoving the oil down his throat seals the deal.
Michael Jackson is to pop music what Steven Spielberg is to film.
Therefore, long before he became so odd and criminal and freakish, I despised him and what he stands for.
I've never heard anything human, any personality, in his music; therefore, unlike, say, Kraftwerk, who meticulously constructed an inhuman sound and tone as its own kind of pathos, Michael Jackson completely fails on his own terms. Every time I see Clay fucking Aiken, I think, "There. That's the sum of what Michael Jackson has contributed to music. That horrible, empty, glee-club 'Gee, folks! I'm an entertainer! Let's dance 'n sing 'n put on a show!' ideology." A real live Mickey Mouse doll for the world to embrace.
Actually, now that his Kingship has been irrevocably taken away, I find him more intriguing than ever before, if only because he's taking that harmless, sexless, pointless image of his- the one this ever-more-conformist world of ours seemed to crave- and shoving it back down the throat of the machine that made him.
Quote from: godardianThat horrible, empty, glee-club 'Gee, folks! I'm an entertainer! Let's dance 'n sing 'n put on a show!' ideology." A real live Mickey Mouse doll for the world to embrace.
If we didn't have that kind of stuff though, the world would be a pretty sad place... I for one believe that crappy "dance 'n sing" entertainment has its place in the world... its not about being artsy fartsy all of the time... sometimes i love the mindless joyfulness of upbeat crappy pop music...

Michael's Wal-Mart Misadventure
Michael Jackson's not just any Wal-Mart shopper.
On Tuesday in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, he was the one in the pulled-down ski mask.
The entertainer's outdoor-gone-indoor fashion choice prompted a call to local police from a skittish employee, the singer's camp said Friday.
Publicist Raymone Bain said the worker didn't know the ski-mask wearer was Jackson. She said Wal-Mart employees were on alert because of a rash of robberies in recent years.
"It was just something that has been happening quite often," Bain said. "[Jackson] was not targeted."
Police cleared up the mystery of the masked man when a cruiser pulled up alongside Jackson's car in the Wal-Mart parking lot and asked the covered passenger to remove his disguise. When Jackson revealed himself to be Jackson, he was allowed to go on his way, Bain said.
Jackson, currently facing child-molestation charges in California, was neither arrested nor detained. "It was just a simple procedure," Bain said.
Even though Jackson's headgear led to a police response, the rep said she was told by local authorities that it's not unusual for persons in chilly Colorado to wear ski masks indoors.
It's certainly not unusual for Jackson to cover up--the 45-year-old has long been partial to surgical masks. Last May, he showed up in a California congressman's office in a Spider-Man mask, the better to inquire as to the whereabouts of the nearest Taco Bell.
At Wal-Mart, the formerly chart-topping pop star was accompanied on his shopping trip by security personnel, Bain said.
Jackson is in Colorado on an Aspen snow vacation with his three children; the eldest two are reputedly the subject of a legal dispute with ex-wife Debbie Rowe.
"They've been having a great time," Bain said of Jackson and his brood.
Earlier this week, Jackson released a statement denying a rumor he was in Aspen for a rehab stay.
Jackson's child-molestation case, meanwhile, is on hiatus until April 2, when a start date is to be set for his preliminary hearing.

The Lost Children
by Michael Jackson
We pray for our fathers, pray for our mothers
Wishing our families well
We sing songs for the wishing, of those who are kissing
But not for the missing
So this one's for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children, wishing them well
And wishing them home
When you sit there addressing, counting your blessings
Biding your time
When you lay me down sleeping and my heart is weeping
Because I'm keeping a place
So this one's for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children, wishing them well
And wishing them home
For all the lost children
This is for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children, wishing them well
And wishing them home
Home with their fathers,
Snug close and warm, loving their mothers
I see the door simply wide open
But no one can find thee
So this one's for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children, wishing them well
And wishing them home
So pray for all the lost children
Let's pray for all the lost children
Just think of all the lost children, wishing them well
This is for all the lost children
This one's for all the lost children
Just think of all the lost children
We Are The World
-Michael Jackson
There comes a time, when we hear a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying, and it's time to lend a hand.
To life the greatest gift of all
We can't go on, pretending day by day
That someone somewhere will soon make a change
We are all part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know that love is all we need
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true, we'll make a better day just you and me.
Send them your heart, so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us, by turning stones to bread.
So that we all must lend a helping hand.
We are the world......
When you're down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let's realise
That a change can only come
When we stand together as one
We are the world......

What a zoo that case has become. The media focus is larger than OJ + Scott Peterson combined.

NOT GUILTY ON ALL CHARGES!!!
Michael Jackson Acquitted of Molesting Boy
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A jury acquitted Michael Jackson on Monday of molesting a 13-year-old cancer survivor at his Neverland ranch, vindicating the pop star who insisted he was the victim of mother-and-son con artists and a prosecutor with a vendetta.
A caravan of black SUVs delivered Jackson, wearing a black suit and flanked by family members, to the courthouse. Jackson was greeted by "Michael, innocent" chants as he walked into the courthouse.
The jury, which listened to 14 weeks of testimony and arguments, deliberated over seven days before sending word of a verdict at about 12:30 p.m.
The announcement came shortly after Judge Rodney S. Melville issued a statement saying that the jury asked and withdrew a question Monday morning. He also confirmed that on Friday the jury had a read-back of testimony and there were four meetings in chambers with attorneys. News organizations had filed motions seeking information on such developments.
Jackson, 46, is charged with molesting a 13-year-old cancer survivor in 2003, plying him with wine and conspiring to hold the boy and his family captive to get them to rebut a damaging television documentary.
In the documentary, "Living With Michael Jackson," Jackson held hands with the boy and told interviewer Martin Bashir that he let children into his bed but it was innocent and non-sexual.
Jackson, who climbed to fame with the Jackson 5 and dominated pop music in the 1980s with the powerhouse "Thriller" and other albums, was portrayed at trial as a pedophile who lured boys into his bed at his fairytale Neverland ranch. The defense called the accuser and his family con artists.
Jackson's career began to lose its luster after 1993 allegations of child molestation that ended with a multimillion-dollar civil settlement paid to a boy, and his lifestyle, two marriages, and drastic changes in appearance became fodder for "Wacko Jacko" tabloid headlines.

Was I the only one rooting for "Innocent?"
I don't think he's guilty. I think he's a little retarded, and lives in La-La Land, but I don't think he's a pedophile. I always thought that, more likely than him being a pedophile, that it was just people taking advantage of him, because look at him--wouldn't YOU take advantage of him? You know that accusing him of something like this would be a giant media circus and that he has would have to fork over lots and lots of money, should he be found guilty.
Who wouldn't take advantage of a washed up, apparently rich-ass (but actually massively in debt) mildly retarded freakozoid? It's the American Dream!

totally, that's probably what happened. i never thought he was really guilty cos i always figured i woulda done the same as the kid.
I wanted him to be innocent, but when the jury didn't even bother with a guilty for giving the kids alcohol, I got kinda pissed.
That jury was bullshit... stupid people of America... this country is going to hell faster than all of us
I'm with Andykal on this one. The verdict was ridiculous, and yet another disappointment.
For andyk and those who prefer to assume guilt... How much do you really know about this case? How much time did you spend in the courtroom examining the evidence?
JB will defend anything. He don't give a shit. He's helping people. I applaud you Jb.
More than anything, the verdict was an act of mercy. That man wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in jail, if he didn't kill himself before getting there.
I never expected any verdict but the one that was handed down yesterday; anyone who really expected him to go to jail was kidding themselves. America likes their crazies on the outside. If they can generate more cash on the outside than it would cost to incarcerate them, they're free to go. However, this is all assuming that he actually did everything he was accused of, which, in the eyes of the law, he didn't.
Not to mention that it was the most expedient way of getting him out of our faces. Now, the networks can go back to reporting on other stories that will make us forget that our government is fucking the world.

You might be right here JB, I for one was familiar with the case, I mean I saw some of E!'s MJ trial reenactments, and read some during the trial, so, I think Mesereau slained the prosecution and their witnesses, they pretty often contradicted themselves when was Mesereau's turn and so they lost a lot of credibility, also, yesterday on Larry King and other shows, 'experts' were saying that more than think that MJ has never done something wrong, this case in particular was really bad handled and that the prosecution chose the wrong family to take MJ to trial, although Tom Sneddon assured that MJ's past didn't influenced a bit and that it was the family of the kid who aproached him, or more accurate, he was handed their case and thought they had one.
Now, you can disagree or agree with all I said but the jury IMO did a fair judgement, although I was a little surprised that he was cleared of all counts, I thought that he could have been guilty of some of the minor ones like serving alcohol to the kid.
Jackson to Get Real?
Michael Jackson is wheeling and dealing. Michael Jackson's accuser is just plain dealing.
That's the tale of the two camps as life goes on in the wake of the pop star's acquittal on child molestation and other charges.
According to Wednesday's Hollywood Reporter, a Jackson family friend and a top Hollywood talent agency are pitching a six-party reality-TV series to star the entertainer, his parents and assorted siblings.
The project is said to show how the famed clan dealt with the months following Jackson's November 2003 arrest. Interestingly, according to the Reporter, the series was on the drawing board even before Jackson's sweeping courtroom victory on Monday. Networks such as ABC and Fox heard the pitch last week, but so far there have been takers.
Jackson family spokeswoman Angel Howansky could not immediately confirm or deny the report. Jackson himself has not been seen in public since somberly exiting the Santa Maria, California, courthouse a free man.
If the TV deal goes--and there was no indication that anybody had bitten yet--Jackson would join the likes of Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey as pop stars gone reality stars. He would be the first, however, to attempt the transition with more baggage than even Spears could cram into a limo.
Another consideration: One of the last times Jackson let TV cameras follow him around, the result was Living with Michael Jackson, the 2003 Martin Bashir documentary that put Jackson's lifestyle back under the microscope and led to the charges against him.
The boy seen holding Jackson's hand in the Bashir documentary is the same boy whose allegations prompted the indictment and trial. Now 15, the boy is said to be puzzled by jurors' reaction to his testimony about being molested by Jackson at Neverland Ranch in 2003.
"He's very down," prosecutor Tom Sneddon said on Wednesday's Today. "He's having a very difficult time understanding why people didn't believe him."
The Drudge Report had a different take, briefly publishing a grainy photo supposedly of the boy "having a ball" the day after the verdicts. (Actually, the boy looked like he was having a sit.)
Tuesday on MSNBC, Sneddon said he urged the boy, a cancer survivor, to play his sports, keep "his chin up" and "be a good person."
"[I told him] that he was a very courageous young man and that he had done the right thing," Sneddon said.
Sneddon's pep talk could have applied to himself, as well. The longtime Santa Barbara County District Attorney has been criticized for pinning the case against Jackson on the accusations of a family with a checkered past. After the verdicts were announced, juror after juror said the family--especially the mother--wasn't credible. Sneddon quickly rejected the notion that he picked the "wrong" family. But two days later, his team was still defending its strategy.
"She behaves as she behaves. This is her. She does snap her fingers when she talks to you," deputy D.A. Ronald J. Zonen said of the mother on NBC's Today. (Finger-snapping was one of the mother's crimes on the stand, according to one Jackson juror.)
Outside the Santa Maria courthouse, meanwhile, crews were busy disassembling the media encampment.
"A lot of cabling," Robert P. Hatch, president and CEO of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce said. "It's sort of layered onto itself, and they're trying to find out whose is whose."
By the end of the week, Hatch predicted, it'll be like the thousand-plus reporters and camera people were never there.
Looks like the courthouse is the lucky one.
pubrick: if a gardener molested YOUR son would you care then?
what? michael jackson is a gardener and i hav children now?
great argument there, tard.
i don't think he's capable of maliciously hurting somebody.
i have no doubt that some inappropriate shit went on, but i sincerely doubt that he's guilty in this most recent case.
i think he belongs in a hospital.

Michael Jackson thanks fans who 'dried my tears'
NEW YORK (Reuters) - In his first public statement since being acquitted of child sex abuse charges, Michael Jackson thanked his fans for the love and support he said "dried my tears" during the four-month trial.
In a statement posted on his Web site (www.mjjsource.com) on Sunday, Jackson said he could not have made it through "without God, my children, my family and you, my fans."
"You were there when I really needed you. I will never forget you. Your ever-present love held me, dried my tears, and carried me through," he said in the statement, which was signed "love, Michael Jackson."
Jackson, 46, was cleared two weeks ago of all charges in the sex abuse trial that had threatened to destroy his career and send him to prison for nearly two decades.
He had been charged with 10 counts of lewd acts with a child, giving a minor alcohol and conspiring to commit child abduction, extortion and false imprisonment.
Hundreds of fans had camped outside the Santa Maria, California, courthouse to show their support for the entertainer during the trial. The verdict, which was broadcast around the world, triggered a frenzy of relief and excitement among them.
"I will treasure your devotion and support forever. You are my inspiration," Jackson said.
On the day of the verdict, a posting on the same Web site showed a hand giving the V for victory sign as the words "The truth runs marathons" scrolled across the screen.
The site also described the verdict as a historic moment and compared it to such events as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release from prison of South African anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela.

Dispute shuts down Jackson ranch
Californian authorities have ordered Michael Jackson to close his Neverland Ranch for failing to pay staff or renew their insurance policies.
The singer was fined $169,000 (£97,000) for not paying at least 30 staff since December and letting his employer's insurance policy lapse in January.
Animals in the ranch's zoo are to be cared for by the local authority.
Michael Jackson has been living in Bahrain since being acquitted on child sex abuse charges last June.
Under Californian law, anyone employing more than one person has to have what is known as a workers' compensation policy.
An order to stop operations at the ranch was served on a security guard at the front gate but officials were turned away when they asked to see the ranch's management.
All the workers have been told to stay away and the ranch operators given five days to appeal.
Legal threat
The Neverland Ranch sprawls over 1,100 hectares (2,800 acres) in central California and as well as the main home and zoo contains a theme park.
Animals at the zoo have included elephants, giraffes, snakes, orang-utans, tigers and a crocodile.
Dean Fryer, spokesman for the state's department of industrial relations, said that Mr Jackson could reopen the ranch by obtaining workers' compensation insurance.
However, he may face legal action by the state if he fails to pay the back wages, Mr Fryer added.
The department was alerted after a Neverland employee making an unpaid-wage claim remarked that a co-worker had been injured at work and was unsure about filing a claim due to the lapsed insurance.
Wow. This thread title does seem in bad taste now, doesn't it? Oh well. Moving along...
