The dp I work with uses and prefers to use the Sony HVRZ1U, which is a camera we've been using for several years now and I see currently goes for around 4K.  I'm not techy, but I gather that it emulates 24p but doesn't shoot 24p.  For the past year we've also rented the Red Rock during shoots.  It's an attachable unit that allows 35mm lenses with an only marginal sacrifice to image quality.  He also tells me it's common for him to encounter the Z1U when he's working in the professional field and ancillary camera work is being shot.
