Sigur Rós to Appear on and Contribute Music to "The Simpsons"

Sigur Rós will appear as characters on, and have written music for, an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons", MBL reports (via the Reykjavík Grapevine). The episode will be set on the band's home turf, Iceland-- also the native land of "Simpsons" character Carl Carlson. The band will also cover the show's theme song. Epic. It airs May 19.

The new Sigur Rós album, Kveikur, is out June 17 internationally and June 18 in the U.S. via XL.
