does anyone know how to make it so the songs will play in the right order when dropped into itunes?

OrHowILearnedTo

you could create a playlist and rearrange them in there. or give them an album name then change the track number in the get info (command I).

Depends on the OS.  On a Mac, open a finder window and click the button to show items in columns.  Then open iTunes and click that far left column so it's in ascending order.  Now when you highlight the tracks you want to drop in that finder window, they should drop in in the proper order.

B.M.'s list also suggests something (beyond breaking one of the only rules):

Should one be allowed to contain a mixtape with more than one song per artist?  I've always enjoyed mixtapes that represent a total variety rather than wallowing around in their own immediate sound.

Cinemanarkissed-Your Girlfriend On The Beach

I went with a summery/impress a girl type of vibe. A shade over 45 minutes, perfect for a nice summer walk, or a solid make out session. Enjoy.
My assholeness knows no bounds.

Are you suggesting we walk with our girlfriend on the beach with a boombox?

With a mix this good emanating from your oversized boombox, the girl(s) will find you.
My assholeness knows no bounds.

very well

remove the olivia tremor control and neon indian reprises (tracks 18 & 20)

(i consider them interludes as opposed to songs, given they are both under a minute in length)

now replace "calling it quits" with ms. mann's "stranger into starman"

that should put me back within regulation at 79.21 minutes with no artist repeats

cinemanarkissed, i am about to peruse your mix

Now you listen to all the songs and tell each other if they're good or not.

I'll be doing so in the coming days.

So far I have heard half of squints mix and it's quite good.
