if youre shooting towards the water, epecially with a distinuishable tide coming in, you will want to shoot the waves at 28 frames a second -- theres is an odd effect that occurs when shooting waves at 24 frames a second, they seem sped up even though you are shooting regular speed - 28 frames makes them appear to be moving at a natural speed.

You need a bounce board. His face was getting dark. Make sure you have a board to bounce light into the shadows.
