watched my first two Marx Bros. movies tonite.  the jokes came very fast, which was good. though the mixing of the 'regular people' characters with these guys seems a little odd, like you're stepping into a different movie when they arent in a scene. but, some good stuff.

keep goin with the marx brothers man, not once have i been disappointed, especially with the two you just saw.

I've only seen The Ring...  from all the reviews I've read (and I've read a lot), it sounds like this is one instance where I'd prefer the remake to the original.  I'll be curious to hear your response to the movie.

i preferred the remake, but yeah mac let us know what you think of it.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

while were on the subject of the ring.  um, once i heard that there was going to be a SE of the remake to tie-in with the sequel, i sold my dvd and now when i get some money i want to buy the SE-especially since it comes with a free ticket to see the sequel. my question is whats on the disc? i checked a few dvd sites but i couldnt find a review of the supplements. help a brotha out...thanks

MacGuffin

Ringu is a much s l o w e r paced movie. It no way captures the tension and creepiness of the remake, which included some great scares and jumps. Also, the remake makes better use of the lead woman. In the original, she's partnered with the ex and that relationship takes away from the mystery of finding out the clues as she does. It becomes almost like exposition as each tidbit of information about the tape is discovered.

The movie disc is the exact same as the previous disc. The second, "Rings" disc, has a 15 minute short movie that's kinda precursor to Ring Two. It's alright. It's about a cult of fanatics who viewed the tape and try to cheat death. The disc also includes cast & crew interviews on the making of the first one, a featurette on urban ledgends, trailers and all the cursed videos from all the films. And, yes, it includes the free movie ticket.
