Title: Downloadable news footage?
Post by: Mr. Brown on July 11, 2005, 04:51:29 PM
Anyone have an idea on where I can get news footage that I can actually download onto my harddrive? All the news sites present their stuff in windows media and real player.

Thanks in advance.

Try a Peer-to-Peer file sharing program, like eDonkey or Kazaa.  You probably wouldn't be able to find, for example, your local news broadcast from last Tuesday, but I bet most major network footage of major news events finds its way on there.

Try www.archive.org.  It's like an online public library and they have plenty of different chunks of footage, but I actually am not sure how much they have of extremely recent footage, if that's what you're looking for.
