Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy (PTA Story)

Just saw the documentary PORN STAR: THE LEGEND OF RON JEREMY on dvd.  As we know, Ron Jeremy was a consultant on BOOGIE NIGHTS.

In the extras section of the dvd they are deleted scenes from the documentary - one of them is called BAD HOLLYWOOD STORY.  Ron Jeremy sits in a screening room at a Planet Hollywood in Los Angeles telling a funny story which deals with PTA and took place at the Planet Hollywood screening room.

PTA invited Ron Jeremy to a screening of HARD EIGHT that he was specifically showing to BURT REYNOLDS and DREW BARRYMORE.  Half way through the screening, Ron Jeremy fell asleep - out loud - he was snoring!  One of PTA's agents woke Jeremy up and warned him he was making PTA look bad infront of Reynolds and Barrymore and to please stay awake.  Ron Jeremy apologised and promised to stay awake.  A few minutes later Jeremy fell asleep again and continued to snore out loud.

What's interesting about this story was the mention of Drew Barrymore at the screening.  This must be the screening PTA has mentioned in interviews and on the Boogie Nights commentary about screening Hard Eight for Burt Reynolds.  Does anyone know if PTA was considering DREW BARRYMORE for a role in Boogie Nights?  Possibly Rollergirl?

I saw the same thing.  Funny shit!  I'd guess Rollergirl too.  PTA mentioned somewhere he was considering different actresses for the Rollergirl part, always liked Heather Graham but didn't really consider her because he thought she wouldn't get naked. (how wrong he was)

I second this notion!!!  Heather was a great choice, best in my opinion....wait, consider this if you will....would Boogie Nights still been as good if Leo and Drew were in it instead of Mark and Heather?...shit...

i would have to say, no -- marky mark(i used to be in the funky bunch so i can call him this) was really good -- i think its a blessing that leo took titanic -- and if drew was in it -- there would have been walk outs at the theater the second her pale tits hit the screen

I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was offered Rollergirl, and Samuel L. Jackson was offered Cheadle's role, and Warren Beatty considered playing Reynolds' role.  Now that would be an interesting "alternative universe" version of Boogie Nights.
