I bought mine this morning at Borders on sale for $19.99. It's only around 6:30 and I have already watched all the special features and both of the commentaries. It is loaded with specials and it's a beautifully done DVD. I also really enjoyed the commentary by Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore and Meryl Streep.

Directed by Forest Whitaker...is this his directorial debut?  I really liked him in Ghost Dog and The Crying Game.

Again, hats off to MacGuffin...you never cease to amaze me.

they were running Hope Floats on the family channel the other nite, but as my girlfriend informed me, without the crying scene and the making out/waking up together scene.  my girlfriend seems to like it, but me personally i wouldnt wish "Hope Floats" upon my enemies.

Well, I'm more than slightly curious to see what Whitaker's style is like.

Its my understanding that Michael Keaton's real name is Michael Douglas, that he started out as a stand up comedian, and that he was the first actor to play the same role in different movies under different studios (Jackie Brown-Out Of Sight).

Can anyone verify these things?

aw

Birth name
Michael John Douglas

When he realized he needed to change his name, he had seen an article with a nice picture of Diane Keaton. He chose Keaton with the intention of changing it later. However, the name stuck. Years later, he phoned Diane Keaton and thanked her. The two have never actually met.

Keaton, a former speech major at Kent State University and nightclub comedian, landed a costarring role (with Jim Belushi) in a 1979 sitcom, "Working Stiffs," that died after just three weeks.

and no, he couldnt be the only actor to play the same part under two different studios because Kane Hodder played the role of Jason in Friday the 13th during the franchises change to New Line from Paramount.
