Blanchett's Scandal
Starring with Dench.

Cate Blanchett is signing for a new project every week these days. This week, according to Variety, it's Notes from a Scandal opposite Judi Dench.

The Fox Searchlight flick is an adaptation of a novel by Zoe Heller. Patrick Marber (Closer) is writing the screenplay and Richard Eyre (Iris) will direct.

Production on the Scott Rudin and Robert Fox film will kickoff on August 13th.

Blanchett will portray Sheba Hart, a free-spirited art teacher whose career is ruined by scandal when she has sex with an underage male student. Dench is Barbara Covett, another teacher at the school and friend of Blanchett's character.
"Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art." - Andy Warhol

after looking her up on imdb in connection to kapur's golden age, i'm amazed at what she's supposedly got lined up, apparently she's choosing based on director:

Alejandro González Iñárritu
Todd Haynes
Steven Soderbergh
Shekhar Kapur
David Fincher

if only all sought-after actors did this. shit movies would probably stop being made.
under the paving stones.

wow, damn thats amazing.   and she did have aronofsky until that fell through.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.
