yeah but its like saying "I could do without all of Sung Tongs and 80% of Feels"

i understand where you're coming from though. Most people i know who don't get into Animal collective/panda bear or liars or anything like that can't stand the repetition and noise stuff.
"The myth by no means finds its adequate objectification in the spoken word. The structure of the scenes and the visible imagery reveal a deeper wisdom than the poet himself is able to put into words and concepts" – Friedrich Nietzsche

I look at all those bands (including Liars, haven't heard the self titled yet though) the same way I look at Sonic Youth.

Half of their stuff is some of the worst music I have ever heard, the other half is some of the best music ever made.

I don't really listen to new music, someone should make me a mix.

but i could definitely do without a lot of the repetition/noise stuff.

and you say you're an Animal Collective fan but you don't like the repetition/noise stuff? Baffling. Just baffling

I've never said I was a AC fan. Person Pitch was the first thing AC related I have purchased. i'm actually in the process of getting some AC albums from a guy who is selling a lot of his cd's cheaply.

I'm a melody guy first and foremost, but on the other hand I like experimentation in song structure, etc. When it's just one part repeated over and over that's not very creative to me. Then again, I love Talk Talk where they have long tracks with repeated drums riffs........Talk Talk seems to stay interesting through........10 min tracks seem 4 mins or infinite...........anywho, another record i don't think that's been mentioned illustrates my tastes - half song oriented/half noise oriented. a bit too much noise tracks for my tastes, but i still think it's a great record.

u know, it wouldn't hurt to put titles under album covers when it's just a random picture.. so ppl know what the fuck you're talking about.

Stefen

Cryptograms is another album that is 50% awful, and 50% pretty good.

Actually, I've only heard the half crap part.

I'm still gonna save my initial post in this thread for the end of the year, cause there is still alot of stuff coming out but I wanted to say that National Anthem Of Nowhere is one of the best albums of the year and everyone should have it on their lists.

Era Vulgaris has really grown on me too. I just have to keep it seperate from the rest of QOTSA's discography.

the first half has been pretty boring.  i'm not going to list any albums at this point, but i'm fairly confident that by the end of 2007 i'll have a solid top ten (the fall looks good). lots of CDs have been firmly okay, but there have been some great songs...
