I have a very cheap digital camera (the only one i could afford), it's a BenQ 5 megapix, no zoom or anything like that.. but it is very light and small.
i was never going to save enough to get a good one anyway, so I decided to settle for what I could.
Anyway, I was in Barcelona this summer, took well over 400 pictures, these are some of the ones that I really like:

These two are, in my opinion, really nice.
I don't like the one with the girl by the fountain, or the food. They're not as visually interesting as the others, especially the first. That one is the clear winner.
Thanks polka and Chest. I like that one a lot too.
Crono, I didn't go to the Vicens, I was only there for a week, and that house was out of the way for me. I'll go there on my second visit to Barcelona, I love that city so much I'll go back, perhaps even live there. It was one of the most stimulating weeks of my life as far as, among many other things, sensibility to architecture goes.
But here is some more Gaudí for you to feast your eyes!

good job. the last three are really good. you can try playing with the contrast in photoshop, process it a little bit, with proper contrast these images can be amazing.
Thx, I have to get photoshop, I don't have any image software. Only paint.
Also: I have lately become interested in lomography. I'm going to buy a Holga camera soon.
So these are from my first roll using my brand new Holga camera. I like them but not too much. The color flashes are fun. Developing is not cheap, though.

Wow some of these are really great. The guy on the bike & last shot are just perfect.
thanks, the last one was tricky to take because they don't like for people to take pictures in Christiania and I had to make sure that there was no one around but us.
These are some x-processed Holga pictures, also from the trip.

Thanks:)
I went there on the 3rd week of july, and stayed for only 5 days or so. It was really nice to return there.
I showed my (ex)-girlfriend (we've broken up since) around town, and was amazed at myself for remembering the ways to go so well, without a map, I felt like it was my town.
I want to go back, but i'd like to visit some other place first. Prague maybe.
By the way, Lisbon is a cheap plane ticket away from there, and you must come here while you're in europe.

i can't hear what you're saying, the blue is too loud.

I used my Holga camera. It was developed at my friend's house with expired chemicals. I think I messed up... but still it's fun to see the sprocket holes
These don't seem messed up at all. I like them a lot, although I'm really a big fan of those colors, as you know. The ones on the beach are quite amazing (and no, I'm not just saying that because I'm a perv).

i like that one.
thanks. I used kodak E100-VS film and had it cross-processed. I really love the colour results.
Yesterday I loaded a roll of proper medium format black and white film on the camera, but haven't taken any pictures yet...

Excellent. It's always good to see someone experimenting with the medium. Your double-exposures in particular are really cool. Reminds me of http://www.ryanmcginley.com/irregular_regulars.php (http://www.ryanmcginley.com/irregular_regulars.php). I've wanted to mess with a toy camera for a while but haven't yet; always seemed like a lot of fun. Anyways, keep on messing with this shit - the results thus far are intriguing.
Thanks Chest. I liked that Link.

Alson I bought an old Zenit-E 35mm camera.. vcery cheap, I like it a lot... still learning how it works though. Will post it's pictures.
Start haunting estate sales and what-not. I once picked up several cameras from one:
Argus C3 Rangefinder 35mm
Kodak Retinette Rangefinder 35mm
Kodak No.1 Autographic Jr. for 120 film (from 1917!)
Kodak EK4 Instant Camera
Polaroid 320 Land Camera
and a couple box cameras, some lighting equipment that doesn't work, etc.
Anyways, not bad. Even the dustiness of the film, despite its accidental quality, fits your aesthetic. It's like technical ability is irrelevant with your style (you don't seem too concerned with formal qualities...and these days I don't think precision is necessary to be successful if the photo is beautiful), but it's not simply snapshot photography, either. Beautiful!
Thank you. actually the "dust" is scratches on the scanner. i don't have one myself, so I use the one in my department in the university. It's not in the best shape....
The holga is very inpredictable and very hard to control. I think that these last "twin effect" double exposures represent the most control and understanding I have of it. Especially the first two. They are exactly what I wanted them to be.

These are my favorites of all, so far.
I'm glad you're starting to get a handle on this thing. The first works perfectly, it doesn't even seem like an effect at first. In fact, I feel the only way I would've known is based on your previous experimentations and you telling us so. It's quite nice.
And the last is just beautiful.
Way to go!
Thanks. the last one was really funny. I was walking on the street and all of the sudden this dog starts furiously barking at me. just at me for some reason. I looked up at the first floor window and found him so funny, I just took the camera from my bag and snaped.

ah yeah that first one's pretty nice
You've really gone this long not knowing anything about lens aperture? Well, you should thank the camera if it's teaching you basic film exposure knowledge. There's nothing like learning on a manual SLR.
This http://cameras.alfredklomp.com/zenite/ (http://cameras.alfredklomp.com/zenite/) has some information about the Zenit-E that might help you out learning the basics of it.
yeah, I didn't say I didn't like it. I really love it. Not just the pictures i takes but also how it looks and feels and sounds.
I even bought a new wider lense for it (the one I used in the last two pictures).
My two previous cameras (a digital compact, and a Holga) had fixed aperture so I never had to worry about it.
My photography education was reading a LOT of websites like that, but mainly reading comments and groups discussions of flickr.com
I think by now I know the basics and even more :yabbse-grin:
