If they're willing, maybe the admins can shed some light on this but you all do realize that Children of Men most likely won by only a vote or two, right?
actually, Children of Men received TWICE as many votes as any of the other nominees. so you did it to yourselves!
no i don't think you understood jacksparrow's point. he's right, while children of men did get twice as many votes as a couple of other nominees, but combined more ppl voted for "anything but children of men" than did otherwise.
i'm actually happier with this years crop of nominees and winners than i have been maybe ever?
we don't know how happy you are, that is only something you can know. why are you asking us?
this is what sunrise said in the Documentary thread...
It's almost too bad Levees only appeared as a documentary nominee because it is simply one of the best films of the year.
more people voted for this than children of men, but the biggest winners in their category were:
Children of Men cinematography- the only one it really deserved
and
The Fountain score- justly deserved, with more votes than the combined total of the other nominees.
and
A Scanned Darkly- obviously for novelty reasons.
unfortunately 45 ppl is not enuff to make a good result. many of us havn't seen or had a chance to see most of the movies. last year the turnout was bigger wasn't it? maybe i'm wrong, but it was more reasonable because more ppl had actually seen the movies they were voting for., see: laura dern.
