Tokyo Story - Criterion

Can't wait, it was a blind buy but it has a 2 hour long docu on Ozu and 40 minutes of interviews with filmmakers on Ozu...

It's on DVD now?

it's funny that theres 3 pages of this topic and its not even christmas yet.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

From my bro:

Only problem, Seabiscuit is Full Screen.  Bleh.  But that's easily fixable.  I'm not sure where he got the idea that I'd want that movie (though I am interested in seeing it).  Came with a book, too.  It's the thought that counts.

This year, I'm demanding the Criterion Hitchcock set (especially since 3 of them are going OOP).

BAAAH!?!?!!

which three? i've got the majority of movies in that box set so i figured i wouldn't buy the set, just finish them out separately. which are going so i know?!

Straw Dogs also goes oop on the 31st, if you didn't already know...
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

it's probably just silly of me to ask but can you fix the full screen problem, cause I have good will hunting and wag the dog fullscreen, and it's painful.
