I guess I'm the only person around here who reads BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3972737.stm

Tarantino set for Mandarin film

Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino has announced his next project will be a kung-fu film shot in Mandarin.

He will also shoot a second version of the film, dubbed with a deliberately out-of-synch English soundtrack.

"I enjoyed shooting all the Japanese stuff in Kill Bill, so much so that this whole film will be entirely in Mandarin," Tarantino told Total Film.

"If you're not up to watching it with subtitles, I really want to do a full-on dubbed version," he added.

"Maybe shooting two Kill Bill movies has spoiled me."

At a press conference in April this year, the director had intimated that his next project would be the World War II film Inglorious Bastards.

But he told Total Film magazine's editor, Mark Dinning, that his homage to cult 1967 action film The Dirty Dozen would have to wait a little longer.

"Everyone still thinks I'm doing Inglorious Bastards next, but before I do that I want to do something much smaller," said Tarantino, whose films have included Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.

The director did not offer any further details as to release date, plot details or cast on the untitled project.

"He just wants to make a genuine martial arts film with all the ideas he has spilling over from shooting Kill Bill," said Mr Dinning.

"His new kung-fu project has Tarantino written all over it - a mix of the barmy and the brilliant that film fans will be excited about seeing."
"I believe in this, and it's been tested by research: he who fucks nuns will later join the church."

He will... he'll get a different dealer and his mood will change... all of a sudden, he'll have decided to start shooting a stop motion animation fim about a chicken.

Maybe he'll come up with some character developments.  That I'd like to see.

i hate to say this, but yeah, i agree with p. too much praise has gotten to him, and now he's hesitant about moving onto something new. we saw the same thing happen to the wachowskis. although, the kill bill films are actually good and worthy of high praise, while matrix was the ultimate "for assholes" movie.

however, i should know better then to bitch about a tarantino rumour/quote. i mean, this was on imdb just yesterday (after the mandarin film news)....

QuoteBrosnan May Return As Bond Again -- In Tarantino Film

Pierce Brosnan might yet again star as James Bond after all. The Associated Press reported Monday that he has been in discussions with Quentin Tarantino about starring in a film version of Casino Royale, the only Bond novel that is not controlled by MGM and the Brocolli estate. (It had previously been filmed as a Bond spoof.) "We have discussed things, Quentin and I, but I don't know if it's going to be that particular project," Brosnan told the A.P. He also endorsed fellow Irishman Colin Farrell to succeed him as Bond in the MGM franchise.

perhaps this forum should be locked until tarantino officially goes into pre-production with something

:( sorry mac. i know your a cool guy. and there are alot of cool guys i know who like the matrix. but its just that nearly every asshole i know happens to love that film. i dont know why.

anyway, your a revolutions fan, right. which means you dont just dig the first two for their trippy slow motion action sequences rather then their story and characters, as most assholes tend to.

MacGuffin

I just don't believe that both Kill Bills are "worthy of high praise" (and certainly not so when compared to QT's other films). Not saying that The Matrix films are either. I believe both series of movies are for 'assholes'.
