Dir. Azazel Jacobs

Thought there might be a thread for this, but after a cursory glance, I didn't see one. Anyways, its really good. I liked Momma's Man alright, but this movie sees Jacobs settling into more traditional "movie" territory. He does so with grace and precision. Its a pretty standard coming-of-age construct, but its far more nuanced than its ugly cousins. There are two scenes in particular that are strange and brave and wonderful, but I will not mention them until other people have seen it. A little too cue-happy for my tastes, but a small gripe for what is surprisingly one of the best of the year.
