The new album is quite good. Still growing on me, as Shiny Toy Guns tends to do. Something about their songwriting just gets under my skin and works for me. Maybe it's their unironic theatrical quality. Anyway, I think it goes like this:

We Are Pilots — Consistent and promising, with some less interesting passages.
Season of Poison — An insane album that contains the band's highest highs (tracks 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11... it's hard to choose) and lowest lows (Ricochet and Ghost Town).
III — Seems to be a return to consistency, with a solid block of excellent songs.

Season of Poison remains my favorite, because those highs are so high, and I think it's grown on me more dramatically than any other album ever has.

Early clear favorites from III

Wait For Me
Waiting Alone
Fading Listening
Take Me Back To Where I Was

Those are all great songs. I would put them near the top of their whole catalog.

Growing on me

Somewhere To Hide
Carrie
