Ugh.  I'm watching this film right now on VHS, because like Lynch, Greenaway pisses me off and intrigues me at the same time.  Problem is, the sound is horrible.  Heh, the VHS is 18 years old, I imagine, or somewhere close to that, so I shouldn't be surprised.  So far the film is decent, but I can barely understand what the actors are saying half the time.  The English accents don't help much.  Gonna plow through this thing though.  If I finish and it doesn't make sense, is it worth paying to rent the DVD version?

I bought it.  It's great.

Greenaway is just one of those directors whose films gain so, so much in a nice, bright, sharp, widescreen format with quality sound.  Get it on eBay for under $15.  That's what I did.
