Directed by Anita Rocha da Silveira
Release Date - TBD

Barra da Tijuca, West Side Zone of Rio de Janeiro. A wave of murderers plague the area. What starts off as a morbid curiosity for the local youth slowly begins to spoil away at their lives. Among them is Bia, a fifteen year old girl. After an encounter with death, she will do anything to make sure she's alive.

Quote from: JIn her first feature film, Anita Rocha de Silveira has created a teen movie in the tradition of Sophia Coppola and Claire Denis, coupling it with the uncanny, creepy tension of David Lynch and the stunning visuals of Dario Argento. It's an obvious homage to those iconic film-makers, but combines the inspirations in a truly unique way.

Mate-me por favor couples death and desire, letting the 15-year old protagonist explore her sexuality as well as her morbid fascination with the murders which are happening around town on screen. The region of Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro serves as a stunning backdrop as the story evolves, contrasting vast grassland with groups of high-rises, adding to the eerie, stylized atmosphere of the movie.

Quote from: Richard HarrisLike if Claire Denis, Sofia Coppola and Larry Clark converged to make a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME-style slasher.

Love the music in the first half of this trailer
