I nominate this for the most shameful budgie-Blackman exchange ever. We're not worthy of DavidLynch.com.

Agreed. Let's get dressed and check out of this hotel.

So, on that... anyone seen the elusive Wild At Heart? And while (whilst?) I'm here... someone please tell me the tale of the Heineken placementation in Blue Velvet. And whilst (while?) you're there, do you think it disrupts, or does it work with the whole absurdity/corruption/fakeness of American Dream deal? I like it personally. And finally... should I buy the Twin Peaks boxed set? Yes, I know it's great, but try to own it?

Cecil

i liked wild at heart but its my least favorite of his films (okay maybe dune is).

i dont know aything obout the heineken placements... i just thought lynch likes heineken. i think those scenes are pretty funny.

Let's Rock, budgie!

Of course you should own it; the pilot episode is worth it alone. Too bad the Region 1 set doesn't include it. But the interviews and the doc "Introduction To David Lynch" tries too hard to copy the director's style and ends up being annoying (choppy editing, toying with the sound track, etc.), but the antedotes from cast and crew are very amusing.

Have you seen this, budgie?

Director Toby Keeler investigates all of David Lynch's artistic endeavors (which include photography, painting, music, and furniture building as well as filmmaking) in this fascinating documentary shot during the making of Lost Highway. Along with film clips and interviews with Lynch, composer Angelo Badalamenti, and producer Deepak Nayar are numerous behind-the-scenes glimpses at Lost Highway and Lynch at work in other media. The highlight is the Eraserhead reunion, where Jack Nance, Catherine Coulson (the "Log Lady" from Twin Peaks and Nance's first wife), and Lynch visit the site where Lynch's first successful feature was shot in the mid-1970s over a two-year period. Maybe not as revealing as one could hope, but an always intriguing portrait of an uncompromising artist driven to create in a wide range of media.

Some other Lynch news:
Wild At Heart SE DVD in 2003?

Thedigitalbits.com is reporting in their rumor mill today that MGM is developing a special edition DVD of Wild At Heart for release sometime in 2003. This is somewhat old news, but no word on this disc had been heard for a while, so the fact that it's still being mentioned bodes well for a 2003 release. Keep in mind that it's called the rumor mill for a good reason, so nothing is set in stone. But given the high sales of their Blue Velvet SE DVD, it would only make sense for MGM to want to exploit their other Lynch title in the same manner. If they do as good a job on Wild At Heart as they did on Blue Velvet, this should be a great disc.[/img]

Wow, I hope everything pulls through.

Can't even speak, Guffy, I'm so turned on and suffocating with desire. Why d'you always make me spend? Having such a bad Lynch craving that you've just made worse. Love the sound of the reunion. That DVD could be the next best thing to joining the website.

See that cover painting, though? Is that a flattened rat? If so, then that is so fucking coincidental I'm in orbit... and if the other shape is a bird...

Edit: just ran off to check it out. So now, what should I do... get a Region 1 DVD that I can only watch in college, or buy the video that I can watch at home even though it has 15 mins less stuff?

Yes, on the left is a rat, on the right is a bird. You witness Lynch make that painting in the doc.

I dunno. I haven't seen the DVD version yet, so...  :? Your call.

Have you seen the Lunch With Lynch stuff on the site? God I wanna join so baaaad.

Anyone got the Shorts DVD?

Drowning in the Twin Peaks DVD right now. Favourite episode? So far, for me, no.2.

What's the story on more to come, because this is gonna leave me with very itchy withdrawal. Fuck I predictably love Special Agent Dale Cooper.

Of course, that's the one where Nadine solves how to make the curtain rods quiet.

Last drop of my blood has got to fall here.

Two books to write and wanderlust, not to mention a broken heart, Jeremy.

Shining eyes taking a backwards glance at:

JB... wish I'd had part of your brain at 19.
sphinx... the heart of my mystery.
MacGuffin... the mystery of my heart.
FilmStudent... {sigh}.

But you can all take a lesson from RK. Real love to you, Dude.
