it's a new martial arts fantasy epic by Chen Kaige, who did Farewell My Concubine, and more recently, Together.
it's based on an epic poem, about a poor girl, after stealing from a rich boy, gets cursed from a god so that she'll be wanted by every man she encounters but she can never obtain true love.
