Title: Welcome to the Xixhibition!

Post your art!

Movies, music, drawings, sketches, paintings, short stories, anything. If you think it's art, and you made it, then you can post it.

If you need help with small files, like pictures or text documents, PM me (http://xixax.com/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=21). You'll have to host your own movies, though.

Try to avoid pornography, advertising, or copyright infringement.

Questions? Ask them here.

This is great! I let out a little cry of "Yes!" when I saw it :) Definitely one of the better changes to the site.

Edit: And you av is currently the best one on the site.

Organizational suggestion:

It would be easier for everyone if we keep related things in the same thread. For example, if you made a thread about flower drawings, just update the thread when you make another flower drawing. If you make a series of related short films, keep it in one thread. We want separations to be clear, but we don't want the number of similar threads by the same person to become overbearing. Just use your best judgement.

Reminder: We can host pictures for you. Just  PM me (http://xixax.com/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=21).

Read some copyright basics here (http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html).

Basically, if you made it, you have the rights to it. Registering a copyright is a formality that gives you more legal power. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

From the website:

A work that is created (fixed in tangible form for the first time) on or after January 1, 1978, is automatically protected from the moment of its creation and is ordinarily given a term enduring for the author's life plus an additional 70 years after the author's death.

In general, copyright registration is a legal formality intended to make a public record of the basic facts of a particular copyright. However, registration is not a condition of copyright protection.

We probably want to stay away from posting movies with copyrighted music. Otherwise, you probably don't have to worry about anything. Unless you take somebody else's work and say it's yours... that's just mean.

moment of zen has poetry on different topics on this board, you could PM him and ask if he'd like his collected works in this part. There are also few original works in Brainstorming section.

Because God hates pornography.

But there's always room for compromise.

I have a short film I made on DVD (wasn't able to export to MiniDV at the time), and I ripped it but I can't find any free software to convert from VOB to MPG.
