Because Richard Pryor is a bad ass motherfucker.
Falling in love is the greatest joy in life. Followed closely by sneaking into a gated community late at night and firing a gun into the air.

Does this thread reek of desperation or what?

I agree.  I keep going to IMDB hoping that I'll see "announced" next to some title or project.  I can't wait much longer... even though PDL was just released to DVD in 2003!  HAHA.

Whatever it is... I hope it is a PTA project through and through.  I hear a lot about him taking books and turning them into a movie.  Don't get wrong... that's cool but you have a lot more respect for all his movies knowing that he not only directed and produced them but wrote the amazing story.

As a complete filmmaker... he's probably my favorite.  And I want him to stay "complete".

What makes you think IMDB will have the scoop before us? I'm sure right after Greg gets word, this will be his first visit.

I am amused that the Richard Pryor thread here is in the PTA forum.  This, however, is not amusing:

Pryor Loses Voice
Multiple sclerosis has robbed tragic comedian Richard Pryor of his voice. The funnyman has been suffering the debilitating disease since 1986, but was forced to quit acting after appearing in 1997 movie Lost Highway. Now, on a US television appearance, his sister Jennifer has revealed Pryor, 64, can no longer speak. Jennifer also said the comedian - who appeared with her - tried to kill himself during a film stunt in 1981. Pryor was thought to have set himself on fire accidentally, but Jennifer said, "No, no, it was not an accident. I think Richard wanted to take his life."
