Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished - a radical narration about race in America, using the writer's original words. He draws upon James Baldwin's notes on the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. to explore and bring a fresh and radical perspective to the current racial narrative in America.

Directed by Raoul Peck
Release Date - February 3, 2017

Agreed. Not only does it offer exceptional insight and empathy into what we are continuing to deal with in America, it also contains some unique and brilliant analysis on why movies can be so dumb and it's characters so far off from anything resembling a human being - and tie the two together. It looks at this country's sordid tradition as an existential crisis. Beautifully done and even if you think you're woke you'll still be floored by this

I really want to see the movie, but this made me laugh thinking about someone saying "Oh, I think I'll skip that movie, I'm already woke"
