i went in with Boogeyman on my mind. you remember: Sam Raimi produced, following Spider-Man 2. New Zealander Stephen Kay the director. story from co-creator of recent The Boys.

this one is Guillermo del Toro produced, following Best Picture. Norwegian André Øvredal the director. adaptation of classic kids book. screenplay by Dan and Kevin Hageman (industry-pro kids-movie writers). a story by three people including del Toro.

it's slick as hell and who gives a shit. i was in the mood for this so it delivered. by accident i fell asleep but only for a short while.

my other movie options were Malarkey by the Light, Burnout Bernadette, and Meh Boys.

one thing i'll mention about this movie is how i was there for it.
