Hello. It's been... almost seven years? I see a few familiar names are still around.

Anything exciting happen?

Shout out to Reelist for sending me PM's once a year, with each message slightly increasing in hostility.

Hey, I remember this guy! Don't know what I said in the PM's, maybe you could send em to jog my memory? I think what I found coolest about you was that you seemed to be on your way to starting an honest to goodness screenwriting career when you were last with us, how'd that pan out?

Well, Pete Directed a series of Music Videos one of which starred Patton Oswalt, and on the set of another this happened

Macguffin almost died

and yes, 03 shot someone

we're just talking the last couple years here, someone else will have to fill you in on the rest. What's been going on with you?

write me back you jizzlicker.

Short summary:

Wrote hundreds upon hundreds of hours of bad TV so I could afford dumb things like a complete criterion collection, drifted away from writing movies, got married, got back into writing movies, had a script produced last year (indie, still in post), and I have two cats, one of which is anxiety ridden and doesn't want to poop in the box all the time.

03

dude!
hey im nice now.

what tv have you been writing? that sounds awesome.
yeah ghostboy is making amazing movies.
pete is making amazing music videos.
somebody here worked on oblivion i think?
oh breaking bad ended.

completely normal question about whatever happened to ... a person .. with the username ... Xixax. whatever happened to the Xixax irl character. if you do or don't know the story you can go ahead ahead and make up a story about what happened to Xixax, who it seems would've been helpful during the david lynch book thing, you remember that, the marketing botch of yesteryear, anyway Xixax told a person:

But dropping in with a shamless plug out of nowhere with a self-made post that's full of hype is just a turn off, that's all.

I think if you'd have come in and said "Hey, I checked out the board back in the PTA days" or "I just found this place" or whatever... Then continued on to tell us a little about yourself, your background, and the movie you made, we'd not only have received it, but embraced it and looked forward to checking it out ourselves.

It's like a salesman walking into wedding reception and standing on the tables yelling "buy from me! buy from me!" You'd get tossed out! If that same salesman brought a gift for the newlyweds, shook some hands, introduced himself and later handed out a few business cards, he'd accomplish a lot more.

At least that's the way I see it...

polkablues

Not much to it. He started this board after the old ptanderson.com board got shuttered, was only ever an occasional presence (more of a behind-the-scenes guy for a long time), and ultimately drifted off over the horizon like Mary Poppins.
My house, my rules, my coffee

Bethie

hahah you guys still make me laugh
who likes movies anyway

Also: AndyK/Kal produced a couple of movies including this one with Viggo Mortensen that premiered at Cannes and is playing at the New York Film Festival.

Mutinyco made a short film that Roger Ebert advocated should be nominated for an Academy Award. He also shot a behind-the-scenes vid for Jay Z and Mark Romanek.

I, um, interviewed PTA once:oops:
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.
