If you could design a band, who would you enlist?  (Please don't list off all the members of your favorite band, have fun with this...)

Vocals - Serj Tankian (System of a Down)
Back-up Vocals - Dicky Barret (Mighty, Mighty Bosstones)
Lead Guitar - Tom Morello (Audislave, Rage Against The Machine)
Piano - Ben Folds (Ben Folds)
Bass - Les Claypool (Primus)
Drums - Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band)

I know a lot of them are their own show, but they could also really complement each other, IMHO.

What would your band look like?  (I did living, but if you want, you could also throw in past people)
"As a matter of fact I only work with the feeling of something magical, something seemingly significant. And to keep it magical I don't want to know the story involved, I just want the hypnotic effect of it somehow seeming significant without knowing why." - Len Lye

Bob Dylan would write some lyrics that are recited/sung/screamed by Roger Daltey over an extended electric guitar jam from Hendrix, Young, Clapton, maybe Thurston Moore, Johnny Ramone, Mick Jones too. Mike Watt on bass, I guess. Animal from the Electric Mayhem would play drums. John Cale would be there to do whatever the fuck he wanted with any instrument.

You damn well know celebrity bands always suck!  Look at the Tina Yothers band and the Russell Crowe band!!!

Pas

Vocals, bass and keyboard : Geddy Lee
Guitar : Alex Lifeson
Drums : Neil Peart

I did not intend to be funny, Rush really has the most compatible members. Without considering compatibility though, I'd say :

Vocals and guitar : Neil Young
Bass: Geddy Lee
2nd Guitar : Steve Hackett
Drum : Neil Peart

SHAFTR

Vocals: Prince
Lead Guitar:  Eric Clapton
Bass:  Sting
Drums:  Phil Collins

and they can all sing together...that would be interesting...maybe not good, but interesting.
