Pretty related to kal's q.
I remember he said in some interview when promoting TWBB that he had nothing going on but prior to the promotion of blood said he was writing something and liking it (was it on the henry rollins show?), so, how's that something he was writing?

I just enjoy reading anything the man says.

What excites/inspires him today, in film or media or just in general?

What's his favorite flavor of milkshake?

1) Ever get writers' block? How do you deal with it?

2) Would you ever consider directing someone else's script?

3) How has fatherhood changed you as a filmmaker, if it has?

4) Greater honor - Multiple Academy Award Nominee or Multiple Xixax Award Winner?

I believe he's already answered the first three at various events.

Would you do an act of charity for certain actors such as Robert Deniro and write a role for them they can't sleepwalk through?

Also:

Standard "What DVDs/Films can you reccomend"?

Was that Maya Rudolph who played the laughing whore in the background? I was too lazy to look at the credits.

2) Would you ever consider directing someone else's script?

he consistently has said no to this. the closest he would come would be to adapt a book, which he has now done. he did say he'd let someone else direct one of his scripts, but i find that highly doubtful.

3) How has fatherhood changed you as a filmmaker, if it has?

check out his interview on the treatment with elvis mitchell. he was asked "this is the first film you've made about fatherhood since you've become a father. how has that affected you?" and his response was that they certainly didn't spend as much time in the editing room as they used to in the boogie nights days. they used to never go home, just crash in the editing room, all weekend. with blood they were forced to work for two weeks and take two weeks off b/c of family obligations and it ultimately helped him b/c otherwise, if you never take a break, it's hard to see the forest through the trees. also, he said that it was nice to have a kid and not have the film be the center of the world, b/c "i'll tell you, that baby does not give a shit about your movie."
