I'm a huge fan of the VERY underrated actor Henry Gibson. I simply loved him as the Head Nazi in "Blues Brothers", then as Dr. Klopek in "The 'burbs" and now as Thurston Howell in "Magnolia". He was so amazing in this, especially together with Bill Macy.
PTA should make another film starring Gibson and Macy in the leading roles!

he was brilliant in bio-dome. lol. no, i like him. just not extremely familiar with his stuff outside magnolia and blues brothers.

The Magnolia-Short Cuts-Nashville-Altman-PTA continuum gets even stronger when you see Gibson's groovy performance in "Nashville."

Michael Murphy of "Nashville" also has a small role in "Magnolia"

No, Michael Murphy actually plays the Partridge lawyer, not the doctor.

He's the one that Linda tells to "shut the f--k up" 10 times.

I'm so sorry for not making a thread about him before. Gibson and should've devoted a thread to him so long ago. Nashville is such a great movie, but Gibson is the most compelling character in the film for me. When I pop in the DVD every so often, I usually jump to his "200 Years" scene just to watch his every move and line.
"He plays like a frog."
