I don't understand these guys ! They write and act with one of the most talented guy around, Wes Anderson (as if I had to name him), yet they also star in all kinds of crappy movies like I Spy and Charlie's Angels. What, nobody offers them anything serious/good besides Anderson ? Really, this is beyond me.

Xixax

I think they're just doing what I would do if I were in their shoes.

"Write me a check, baby."

Hell yes I'd do stupid shit movies for the dough as long as I could work on a pet project art film on occasion.

Good paychecks (more or less): Charlies Angels 1 + 2, Meet The Parents, Zoolander, Old School.

Bad paychecks: everything else.

I hate that feeling...disliking the fact that they do it but knowing I would do the same in their place.

Anyway, at least we can look forward to Owen starring in Wes' next...he should be hilarious. And I gotta admit, I do like Meet the Parents and Zoolander. I even like Charlie's Angels. Just not half as much as I love Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, and Rushmore. I would absolutely prefer they did more stuff like that.

Yes, you're eyes aren't deceiving you that is Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller as Starsky & Hutch! A very cool first look at the guys in character and in the famous car.

Me, too. Especially Meet the Parents.

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."

IT was double-take time as BEN STILLER and OWEN WILSON were joined on the set of their new film Starsky And Hutch by, um...Starsky And Hutch.

Ben and Owen, resplendent in bushy hair and tight jeans, welcomed DAVID SOUL and PAUL MICHAEL GLASER the actors from the original Seventies TV show.

The movie is being filmed in Los Angeles, where David and Paul showed up to shoot their cameo.

In the film they hand over their guns and the keys to the famous red Ford Gran Torino car to the new Starsky And Hutch.

But the biggest double-take was for rapper SNOOP DOGG who plays S&H's pal Huggy Bear and wears an outrageous pimp suit.

Zoolander = inspired comic genius

The only thing I don't like about Owen doing other movies is that he doesn't have time to write with Wes. And he probably adds something great that is not gonna be there with just Wes on his own.
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

I generally dont consider Snoop Dogg to be that funny, but this is a really good role for him assuming he doesnt over do it.

RETURN OF THE FOKKERS
Source: Sky News (May 14, 2003)

Meet the Fokkers - the long-awaited sequel to hit comedy Meet the Parents - is finally set to get the green light.

A senior source at Universal told Sky: "We have been trying to get this under way for a while.

"Everybody is very keen to do it and they all have space in their schedules for the first quarter next year - that's when we hope to shoot it."

Meet The Parents was the surprise hit of 2000, and the original cast of Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo are all on board.

The only big question that remains is who will play the Fokkers.

Much of the smart money is riding on Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller - Ben's real parents.

One thing that has changed is their surname.

In the original movie it was Focker - now it is Fokker.
