I just got through watching this film for the first time and years and I am pretty impressed. I thought the acting was really good by everyone in the cast. I didnt think Courtney Love would do such a nice job. And Milos Forman did a great job too. Very smooth storytelling, I was just sucked into the story and wasn't really focusing on shots or any other technical things.

Has anyone seen it lately? Care to offer any comments? OR, Mac, will you send me somewhere where someone's already spoken about this film? Thanks.

There was recently released a new "special edition" of this film on DVD.  Might want to check it out.

Is funny cause Courtney Love is actually looking more like Althea everyday now... it doesnt happen much that you play someone and then you become the same

Great movie.  One of the very best of the 1990's.  Harrelson, Love and Norton are all excellent.  Forman is a great director.  It's also a great civics lesson about 1st Amendment rights.  The Special Edition is worth buying.

just saw this again tonight.  anyone know why after flynt gets shot he starts talking like he has cotton in his mouth?  greg kinnear also did it as bob crane toward the end of auto focus.  is it a medical condition they're portraying or what?

The damage from the bullet that hit Flynt caused him to have a permanent speech impediment.

In the case of Kinnear, he's using what are called 'plumpers'. They go in the mouth in the cheek areas to give the illusion of a fatter face, from gaining weight without having to actually do it. The down side is they tend to make the actors sound like Brando from The Godfather with cotton in his mouth.
