okay, so I haven't seen this film yet

but I remember reading the thread here about Let the right one in and how people praised the acting in that film when it kind of sucked. one thing that makes ruben östlund great is he's dialogue, and how natural and realistic he makes the swedish language. if you understand swedish and watch a lot of sweidish film you'll realize that he's miles ahead of everyone else in that regard, and that's something that foreigners won't understand. also, if you want to see a truly great östlund film you should seek out Play and Involuntary with english subtitles. these are much better then Force Majeure (again, I haven't seen The Square yet).

i'm just happy that there's a director that's discussed outside of sweden, and I think he's great tbh. have been a fan for a long time.
