I just saw this amazing concert documentary last night in Boston.  It was a 75-minute video of Nina Simone's 1976 show in Paris, it was one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen, even for Nina Simone standards.  She was tripping on something I guess, in this stream of conscionsness mode, and she just went on.  She did a few amazing renditions, and then just improvised for the second half of the show.  It was just Nina Simone on the piano and one drummer, then there was a percussionist late in the show, it was awesome, she was incredible both as a pianist and as a singer, everyone knew that, but who knew she could do African dance as well?  I really wanna get this on DVD but I have a feeling that I probably won't be able to find it
If this movie is coming to your area, go freaking see it.
