I can't remember why now, but a couple of months ago I watched both There Will Be Blood and Magnolia with the script open on my laptop. I would read long as the film unspooled. It was an interesting exercise. I was especially impressed with how much of Magnolia was actually on the page. For some reason it felt so emotionally raw, etc, that I expected more of it to have been improv-ed, or something?
Have any of you ever tried this?
I have read the scripts, but not like that. I did however watch Magnolia when I was 16-17 and paused every other minute to write it down in Swedish. I had like 40 pages of Magnolia translated to Swedish with my own interpretation of the scenes and dialogue. I should do it again because it was pretty fucking educational.
That's amazing. Do you still have it?
