Chest Rockwell

What's with the PS on DuckSauce's letter? Joke? That'd be a cruel joke...

Aw man, cronopio, not you, too. You were one of the first chums to actually take notice of me.

It's a sign, Chest.

Anyway, I'm going to throw my name into the hat and also say goodbye. It's almost been a year since I've been here and I think I need to relax. Thanks for everything guys. I love you all. Well, most of you. Um. At least half. Well, if not half, a good minority of you. Okay, I promised myself I wouldn't cry. Remember MEEEEEEEEEEEE *falls off of Cliff**

I'm not leaving but I wanted to jump on the bangwagon sooner than later.

* and by Cliff, I mean the guy from Cheers. Not the actual cliff cliff. Ratzenberger's a tease.

Cronopio... say it ain't so?!

Best of luck then, to you too. You inspired me to go seek out JLG.
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

Godardian – You are the most passionate mother fucker about every topic discussed. But that's a good thing.

...a high and highly unexpected compliment. To which I'll respond: Passion arises from being provoked and challenged out of your complacency, and you were definitely always there to do the challenging and provocation. No Duck Sauce could very well have equaled less inspiration (of a sort). Good luck to you.
""Money doesn't come into it. It never has. I do what I do because it's all that I am." - Morrissey

"Lacan stressed more and more in his work the power and organizing principle of the symbolic, understood as the networks, social, cultural, and linguistic, into which a child is born. These precede the birth of a child, which is why Lacan can say that language is there from before the actual moment of birth. It is there in the social structures which are at play in the family and, of course, in the ideals, goals, and histories of the parents. This world of language can hardly be grasped by the newborn and yet it will act on the whole of the child's existence."

Stay informed on protecting your freedom of speech and civil rights.

i hope you are not thinking seriously and you'll be back

Gold Trumpet

I like how when these threads pop up, I'm mentioned but its in the way of the person trying not to completely dislike me but find one good thing about me and says it what they about liked me. or you can be sphinx and admit you never liked me. he was a good guy. peace duck sauce. i liked your goofy name. i know you posted a lot, but i don't remember much of it after C&C. You seemed to have drifted into anomynity (sp?), well, at least to me. Weird how things stay crystal clear for me on what happened at C&C.

But, you're right, my disfunctioning personality is best just reviewing films.

I championed GT and Godardian before it was the cool thing to do 8)

Let's make this thread about me and how I'm not leaving

Best thing to ever happen to me here. I remember when Godardian first showed up and replied to almost every thread, I too was singing some praises. Lets turn this thread into a menage a trois and piss some people off.
