Is there anyway to have two dv shots on screen at the same time? I have FCP (version 1.2 mind you, I'm not with the times). Could I just do a really long dissolve transition? I tried that but it doesn't last long enough. Any help would be appreicated.

Easy! Take your second shot and put it directly above the first one in the timeline. Then just adjust the opacity level until you achieve your desired level of transparency. The first track on the timeline will show through from below.

If you don't know how to adjust the opacity, there's a little box you can click at the bottom left hand corner of the timeline. When checked, a line will appear in the video track (and on the audio tracks as well) on the timeline that you can grab and adjust as you see fit. You can also set markers to make the level of the transparency change throughout the shot.

Thank you! It worked like a charm. I'm new to FCP so it would have taken me a while to find that on my own. Thanks again!
